We ship most items via Canada Post "Small Packet Air", which will generally take 6-10 business days to most places in the world. This is a good balance between economy and speed - somehow, the cost seems to go up MUCH faster than the nominal delivery time. At this time, we will quite cheerfully ship anywhere in the world. If you live in an area that is notorious for excessive delays once it hits the border, please bear this in mind and don't yell too loudly at us.
If you are working on a project and you have something that absolutely has to be there as soon as possible, contact us and we'll look into faster methods, both for shipping and production - if I have to arrange fast delivery of the components to my door, I have to pass that cost on as well.
I try to keep the shipping charges as close to cost as I can - I'm not a courier company; I want to make my profits by providing useful products and selling them to people. I certainly don't want to be one of those companies that gouges their customers on shipping. That said, for international customers there is pretty much no way I can estimate what the customs and import taxes are going to be for your package once it hits your border. I'm basically charging you my costs for postage and packaging. Everything else is between you and the postman when your parcel arrives.
There is however some confusion with PayPal's shopping cart. If you add one of my widgets to your cart that has a $10 shipping charge, you'll get $10 added to the cart. So far so good, right? Well, if you add 3 OTHER widgets, each of which has a $10 shipping charge, you're now up to $40 shipping, when these things are probably small enough to ship for about $15 combined. I don't know how to fix the problem, and PayPal hasn't been much help so far.
Long story short - if you're buying one thing at a time, the shipping indicated is pretty fair. If you're buying a few things, I'm going to go in and correct the shipping costs. If you have any concerns about breaking the bank, drop me an email describing what you're interested in ordering, and I'll send you an invoice.
